The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Central Railway has released a notification for the engagement of Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961. Eligible candidates can apply online for 51 Apprentice training slots in various trades across Central Railway divisions.

The apprenticeship training will be conducted in units under Mumbai, Bhusawal, Pune, and Solapur clusters. Candidates who have passed 10th with ITI in relevant trade can apply.

Training duration for all trades: 1 Year

Discipline and Educational Qualification

Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:

  1. Must have passed 10th Class (Matriculation) or equivalent under 10+2 system from a recognized board.
  2. Minimum 50% marks in aggregate in 10th class.
  3. Must possess ITI certificate in relevant trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.

Important

  • Engineering Graduates and Diploma holders are not eligible.
  • Only candidates with 10th + ITI qualification can apply.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

To be eligible for merit preparation:

  • Minimum 50% marks in Matriculation.
  • ITI marks will also be considered.
  • Merit list will be prepared on average of 10th and ITI marks.

Selection Process

There will be no written exam or interview.

Selection will be based on:

  1. Merit list prepared from 10th marks + ITI marks average
  2. Cluster-wise and trade-wise merit list
  3. Document verification
  4. Medical fitness test

If two candidates have the same marks:

  • Older candidate will be preferred
  • If age is also same, candidate who passed 10th earlier will be preferred

Application fee is non-refundable.

Training Period and Stipend

  • Training Duration: 1 Year
  • Stipend: ₹9600 per month

Note:

  • No hostel accommodation will be provided.
  • Candidates must arrange their own stay.

Reservation Rules

Reservation will be provided as per Government of India rules.

Important points:

  • SC seats can be filled by ST if SC candidates are not available.
  • ST seats can be filled by SC if ST candidates are not available.
  • Unfilled reserved seats may be filled by UR candidates.
  • OBC candidates must provide Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued after 01 April 2025.

Candidates must upload the following documents during application:

  1. 10th Marksheet
  2. Date of Birth proof
  3. ITI Marksheet
  4. NCVT / SCVT Trade Certificate
  5. Caste certificate (if applicable)
  6. Disability certificate (if applicable)
  7. Ex-servicemen certificate (if applicable)
  8. Passport size photograph
  9. Signature

Original documents must be produced during document verification.

Medical Fitness

Candidates must produce a medical fitness certificate issued by a Government authorized doctor (Gazetted) not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon.

Minimum physical standards include:

  • Height: 137 cm
  • Weight: 25.4 kg
  • Chest expansion: Minimum 3.8 cm
  • Good vision and hearing
  • No contagious disease

General Conditions

  1. Candidates already undergoing apprenticeship training should not apply.
  2. Only one application per candidate is allowed.
  3. Upload recent photograph and signature.
  4. False information or fake certificates will lead to cancellation of candidature.
  5. Completion of apprenticeship does not guarantee railway job.
  6. No TA/DA will be provided for document verification.
  7. Candidates must keep mobile number and email active.
