Candidates who have passed Matriculation (10th) and hold an ITI certificate in Electrician Trade or Wireman Trade from NCVT/SCVT are eligible. They must also have passed Punjabi at Matriculation level and be between 18 to 37 years of age as on 01/01/2026.
The minimum basic pay for the Assistant Lineman post is Rs. 19,900/- per month as per PSPCL Financial Circular No. 21/2022 dated 17.08.2022 (7th CPC/Pay Matrix). During the probation period of 3 years, only the minimum admissible pay will be given without DA, grade pay, or annual increment (except TA and medical reimbursement).
Selection is based on a Computer Based Online Test (CBT) followed by Document Verification. There is no interview. The CBT has two parts: Part-I is a mandatory Punjabi Language qualifying test (50 questions), and Part-II is the main exam (100 questions) covering Technical, Punjabi, GK, Reasoning, and Arithmetic. Minimum 50% marks in Part-I is required to qualify.
