PwBD Reservation: On horizontal basis. Disability categories include Visually Impaired (HI), Hearing Impaired (HI), Orthopedically Challenged (OC), and Intellectual Disability (ID).
SC/ST/OBC/EWS reservation perks have helped increase the chances for candidates belonging to all sections. There are 635 seats available all throughout the major states of the country. If you are a candidate applying for smaller states, then you might experience fewer competitors than bigger states such as Uttar Pradesh (100), Punjab (90).
🎓 Educational Qualification
- Regular Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University/Institute, OR equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
- The candidate must be proficient in the local language (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Understanding) of the applied State/UT. Proof via 8th/10th/12th or Graduation certificate showing the local language as a studied subject is required.
Important Restrictions:
- Postgraduate degree holders are NOT eligible.
- Candidates with one year or more of work experience are NOT eligible.
- The qualifying exam should not have been passed more than 5 years ago (cut-off date: 06.06.2026).
One should have at least a normal degree in any stream to be eligible to apply, thus offering the chance to all Arts, Commerce, and Science graduates. The main candidates for this apprenticeship scheme would be fresh graduates without any work experience at all.
📉 Minimum Qualifying Marks
Any particular percentage mark is not specified in the announcement. But the merit list would be drawn up in order of HSC/10+2 percentage in decreasing order. In case of tie in the percentage, then candidates will be selected on the basis of age with older candidates being preferred.
It is very important for the applicants to understand the principle of merit selection because even when a specific cut-off percentage is not provided, the score that you got in your 10+2 exam directly determines your merit position.
🎂 Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 20 years
- Maximum Age: 28 years
- Cut-off Date for Age: 01 May 2026
Age Relaxation:
| Category | Relaxation |
|---|---|
| SC/ST | 5 years |
| OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) | 3 years |
| PwBD (Benchmark Disabilities) | 10 years |
| Widows/Divorced Women (General/EWS) | Up to 35 years |
| Widows/Divorced Women (OBC) | Up to 38 years |
| Widows/Divorced Women (SC/ST) | Up to 40 years |
| Persons affected by 1984 riots | 5 years |
The relaxation of age limit becomes one of the key advantages for reserved category aspirants since it provides an extra few years of eligibility. SC/ST aspirants enjoy 5 years’ upper age relaxation, whereas PwBD aspirants enjoy maximum relaxation of 10 years.
💰 Application Fee (Non-Refundable)
| Category | Fee |
|---|---|
| SC / ST / PwBD | ₹100 + Applicable Taxes + Payment Gateway Charges |
| General / EWS / OBC | ₹200 + Applicable Taxes + Payment Gateway Charges |
- Payment mode: Online only (Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, UPI)
- Cash, Cheques, Money Orders, and Postal Stamps are NOT accepted.
- Once paid, fees will NOT be refunded under any circumstances.
The application fee is very affordable compared to most bank recruitment exams. SC/ST/PwBD candidates pay just ₹100, making this one of the most accessible banking opportunities of 2026.
⚙️ Selection Process
- Merit-Based Shortlisting — Based on HSC/10+2 (Class 12) marks
- Document Verification — Original documents checked at joining
- Medical Fitness Check — Candidates must be declared medically fit as per Bank requirements
The merit list would be made State-wise, District-wise, and Category-wise. No test/interview is there in this recruitment procedure; it is totally based on your Class 12th marks. Hence, it is one of the most transparent processes for a recent graduate.
