Applicants who have passed their Class 10 examinations from any recognized state board or CBSE board will be eligible for applying. If you have studied Class 12 as well, then it will give you an advantage when the Screening Committee shortlists applicants. It should be noted that the Screening Committee may choose its own standards while inviting applicants for the trade test.

📉 Minimum Qualifying Marks

The selection for CSIR-NIIST MTS 2026 will be conducted in the following stages:

Stage 1 — Screening

• Applications will be screened by a duly constituted Screening Committee based on documents and information provided online.

Stage 2 — Trade Test

• Candidates shortlisted by the Screening Committee will be called for a Trade Test.
• The Trade Test is a practical exam designed to assess the candidate’s hands-on knowledge as per job requirements.

Stage 3 — Written Examination
