Punjab Police has released Advertisement No. 01 of 2026 for recruitment to the post of Constable in District Cadre and Armed Cadre. Interested candidates can apply online through the official recruitment portal. The selection process will include a Computer Based Test, Physical Tests and Document Verification.

Pay Scale

Selected candidates will receive:

• ₹19,900 per month minimum pay
• Applicable for first 3 years from joining
• As per Punjab Government rules.

Discipline and Educational Qualification

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have completed the qualification before 1 January 2026.

Mandatory Qualification

Candidates must have:

• Passed Matriculation with Punjabi language as compulsory or elective subject.

Age Limit

Age calculated as on 01 January 2026.

Age Relaxation

• SC / BC Candidates: 5 years (up to 33 years)
• Government Employees: 5 years
• Ex-Servicemen: Service period deducted from actual age.

Physical Standards

Transgender candidates will be treated the same as female candidates.

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of three stages:

Stage 1 – Computer Based Test (CBT)

Two papers will be conducted:

Paper 1 (Merit Based)

• 100 questions
• 100 marks
• Duration: 2 hours

Subjects:

• General Awareness
• Quantitative Aptitude
• Mental Ability & Logical Reasoning
• English Language
• Punjabi Language
• Digital Literacy

Paper 2 (Qualifying)

• Punjabi Language
• 50 questions
• 50 marks
• 50% required to qualify

No negative marking.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

Candidates must also score 50% in Punjabi Paper II to qualify.

Stage-II: Physical Screening Test (PST)

Male Candidates

• 1600 meter race: 6 minutes 30 seconds
• Long jump: 3.80 meters
• High jump: 1.10 meters

Female Candidates

• 800 meter race: 4 minutes 30 seconds
• Long jump: 3.00 meters
• High jump: 0.95 meters

Ex-Servicemen (Male above 35)

• 1400 meter walk/run in 12 minutes
• 10 squats in 3 minutes.

Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

Height measurement will be conducted to verify the minimum required height standards.

Stage-III: Document Verification

Candidates must present the following documents:

• Matriculation certificate (age proof)
• 10+2 certificate
• Punjabi language proof
• Domicile certificate (if applicable)
• Category certificate
• NOC for government employees
• Ex-servicemen certificate (if applicable).
