🎓 Educational Qualification

Essential Qualification:

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering from a recognized university incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature, or established by Parliament, or recognized under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956.

Special Note for AE (Civil) – General Administration Dept.: Candidates who have passed both Part “A” and Part “B” of AMIE (Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers) are also eligible. This equivalence was granted vide GAD circular No. 7/2597/1/31/78 dated 01/01/1979.

Important Condition: The degree/certificate must be obtained on or before the last date of application (11/06/2026). Degrees awarded after the closing date will not be considered valid.

No documents need to be attached with the online application — originals will be verified only at the interview stage.

Fee Refund Policy: CG local resident candidates who actually appear in the written exam/interview will get their examination fee refunded to their bank account. Portal charges and GST are non-refundable under any circumstances.

Paid Error Correction Fee: ₹500/- (one-time, for correcting gender, DOB, category, domicile, disability, or ex-serviceman entries after the free correction window closes)


⚙️ Selection Process

The selection will be conducted in two stages:

Stage 1 – Written Examination (Objective Type)

  • Paper I: General Studies (Hindi & English medium)
  • Paper II: Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical — candidate’s choice)

Stage 2 – Interview / Viva Voce

  • Candidates qualifying in the written exam will be called for interview
  • Number of candidates called = approximately 3 times the number of vacancies per engineering stream

Final Merit:

Prepared based on combined marks of written exam + interview, category-wise.

Alternative (If applications are fewer): CGPSC may conduct direct interview only (100 marks total, minimum qualifying: 33 for General, 23 for SC/ST/OBC).

Note: CGPSC may also opt for Computer Based Test (CBT) instead of traditional written exam depending on the number of applicants.

The selection process is highly competitive given the limited vacancies. Both technical depth (Paper II) and general awareness (Paper I) are tested simultaneously, making comprehensive preparation essential.

  2. New Registration: First-time users must register by entering Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Gender, DOB, Mobile Number, Email ID, and ID Proof Number
  3. OTP Verification: Click “Generate OTP” — enter the OTP received on your mobile and email
  4. Live Photo Upload: A link will be sent to your registered mobile; click “Open Camera” to capture a live selfie (face must be clear, both ears visible, light background, face covering ~80% of frame)
  5. Signature Upload: Sign on white paper with black ballpoint pen, scan as JPG (max 100 KB), and upload (scan only the signature, not the background)
  6. Login & Apply: After saving photo/signature, login with your credentials and click the “Apply” button for the relevant post

What is the last date to apply for CGPSC State Engineering Service Exam 2026?

The last date to submit the online application is 11 June 2026 till 11:59 PM. The online application window opens on 13 May 2026 at 12:00 PM. After this, a free error correction window is available from 12–14 June 2026, and a paid error correction window from 15–17 June 2026.

Who can apply for CGPSC AE 2026?

Any Indian citizen holding a recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university, aged between 21 to 30 years (as on 01/01/2026), can apply.
