Step 2 – NET/SLET/SET Qualification:

  • Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by HPPSC.
  • NET/SLET remains the minimum eligibility condition for the post.

Exemptions from NET/SLET:

  • Candidates who cleared SET before 1st June 2002 are exempt from NET anywhere in India.
  • Candidates who cleared SET on or after 1st June 2002 can apply only for posts in the state from which they cleared their SET.
  • Ph.D. holders registered before 11 July 2009 are exempt from NET/SLET, provided:
    • Ph.D. was awarded in regular mode only
    • Thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners
    • Open viva voce was conducted
    • At least two research papers published (one in a refereed journal)
    • At least two presentations in conferences/seminars
    • (All conditions must be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/Dean)

Candidates qualifying SET-2026 will also be eligible. The application window will be reopened for them if the result is declared after the closing date.

Desirable Qualification

Familiarity with the traditions, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for working in the specific geographical and cultural settings of the Pradesh.

Stage 2: Personality Test (Interview)
