The Supreme Court of India has released an official recruitment notification (dated 18 February 2026) inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens for filling up 22 vacancies in various cadres including Assistant Editor, Assistant Director (Museum), Senior Court Assistant (Museum), and Assistant Librarian in its Registry.
This recruitment drive offers prestigious Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ level opportunities with attractive pay scales under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. Candidates possessing qualifications in Law, Museology, and Library Science with relevant experience can apply within the prescribed dates.

🎓 DISCIPLINE & EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
1️⃣ Assistant Editor
- Degree in Law (recognized by BCI) OR Member of English Bar OR Attorney of High Court
- Computer knowledge
- Minimum 3 years relevant legal/judicial/research/teaching experience
2️⃣ Assistant Director (Museum)
- Master’s Degree in Museology (1st Class)
- Knowledge of Indian antiquities & museum techniques
- 5 years research experience
3️⃣ Senior Court Assistant (Museum)
- Master’s Degree in Museology (minimum 55%)
- 2 years research/museum experience
4️⃣ Assistant Librarian
- Degree in Library Science
- Diploma in Computer Application / Library Automation
- 2 years relevant experience

🧪 SELECTION PROCESS

💰 Salary Structure (Pay Scale)
- Assistant Editor (Pay Level 12): Initial Basic Pay ₹78,800 per month.
- Assistant Director (Pay Level 11): Initial Basic Pay ₹67,700 per month.
- Senior Court Assistant & Assistant Librarian (Pay Level 8): Initial Basic Pay ₹47,600 per month.
👉 In addition to the basic pay, candidates will be entitled to allowances as per Supreme Court of India rules and applicable government norms.
