| Category | Approx. Posts |
|---|---|
| GEN (UR) | 41 |
| SC | 35 |

| OBC | 22 |

Reservation facility is available as per Rajasthan state rules. SC/ST/OBC/EWS aspirants receive considerable relaxations in respect of age and percentage of marks, thus making it easier for such aspirants to clear this exam. Divyangjan candidates also get separate quota with age relaxation.
🎓 Educational Qualification
Minimum Required: A Degree from any University incorporated by an Act of Central/State Legislature in India, or declared to be a deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 — or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government in consultation with the Commission.
In simple terms, you need a Bachelor’s Degree (graduation) from any recognized university to apply for this exam.
Important Note: Those candidates who have completed the first year of graduation can also apply provisionally but should submit proof of clearing the eligibility test in time for counselling/verification of documents/selection.
This dual eligibility criterion has made the RAS test open to graduates across various disciplines including arts, science, commerce, engineering, etc., thus becoming one of the most inclusive government examinations in Rajasthan.
📉 Minimum Qualifying Marks
The Preliminary Examination is a screening test only; its marks are NOT counted in the final merit list.
For the Main Examination, candidates must secure:
- Minimum 10% marks in each paper, AND
- Minimum 15% marks in aggregate across all papers to qualify for the Personality & Viva Voce round.
Relaxation: The SC/ST category candidates have 5% relaxation from the above-discussed minimum marks criteria. The candidates in ex-servicemen and Divyangjan categories will also have the relaxation according to rules.
It is important to score above the cut-off marks in all the papers because failing to meet the minimum marks criterion in one or more subjects would result in rejection irrespective of the total marks obtained.
🎂 Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 40 years (Age calculated as on 01 January 2027)
- For Contractual Employees of Rajasthan: Minimum age 25 years, Maximum 45 years (as on 01 January 2027)
Note: The base date for age calculation is 01.01.2025 (as per the education department). Therefore, 1 year of additional age relaxation is provided in the maximum age limit.
Age Relaxation Table:
