RailTel Corporation of India Limited (RailTel), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, has released an official notification for recruitment in the Technical Department (Data Centre). Eligible Indian candidates can apply for various posts including Deputy Manager, Manager, and Senior Manager.

RailTel operates major Data Centres in Gurugram and Hyderabad and plays a major role in digital infrastructure projects such as Station WiFi, Cloud Services, Video Surveillance Systems and e-Office services.

Salary / Pay Scale

In addition to salary, employees will receive annual performance related pay (PRP) and other PSU benefits.


Discipline and Educational Qualification

Candidates must have any of the following degrees:

Accepted Engineering branches:

  • Electronics & Telecommunication
  • Telecom
  • Computer Science
  • Computer & Communication
  • Information Technology
  • Electrical
  • Electronics
  • Electronics & Instrumentation
  • Any combination where IT / Computer Science / Electronics is one branch

The qualification must be obtained from a recognized university or AICTE approved institute.

Experience Requirement

Deputy Manager (System Administration)

  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience
  • Work in Linux, Windows Server, virtualization, cloud platforms

Manager (Database Administration / IT)

  • Minimum 3 years experience
  • Database technologies such as:
    • Oracle
    • PostgreSQL
    • MySQL
    • MSSQL
  • Server management and enterprise applications

Senior Manager

  • Minimum 6 years relevant experience
  • Advanced skills in:
    • Server virtualization
    • Cloud infrastructure
    • Security management
    • AI/ML or enterprise IT infrastructure

Experience must be in Government / PSU / Private organization with turnover ₹300 crore or more. R


Technical Certifications (Required)

Candidates must possess at least one valid certification depending on the post, such as:

  • Microsoft Azure Administrator
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
  • VMware Certified Technical Associate
  • Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate
  • PostgreSQL Certified Engineer
  • MongoDB Database Administrator
  • Oracle Certified Java Programmer
  • Certified Artificial Intelligence Practitioner
  • Kubernetes Administrator

Certification must remain valid till the interview date.

Note:

Minimum Qualifying Marks

Interview Only Case

  • Total marks: 100
  • Minimum qualifying marks: 60%

If Written Test Conducted

  • Written Test: 150 Marks
  • Interview: 50 Marks
  • Minimum required: 60% combined marks

Final selection will be based on merit and availability of vacancies.


Selection Process

The selection process may include:

  1. Interview
  2. Skill Test or Written Test (if required)
  3. Document Verification
  4. Medical Examination

Final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in exam and interview.
