About the Role

The Web Growth Engineering Team enables Uber to build our brand, share our stories, acquire, and engage our customers with hyper local, relevant content through the web. Our systems power millions of customer interactions, daily. Our mission is simple, deliver the authoring tool and infrastructure for Uber's expanding business critical web presence, performance marketing level, and solving end user needs.

What the Candidate Will Do

• Design, architect, and build out highly-performant and reliable infrastructure, tools and services, to support our ever growing scale.
• Build out reliability, performance, and testing strategies.
• Envision, plan, and communicate new ways our tools and services can improve.
• Detailed focus on the User and Developer Experience of our tools and services.
• Meticulous eye in monitoring the health and security of our tools and services.

What The Candidate Will Work On

• Scalability engineering
• Distributed systems
• Experience building Content Management Systems.
• Experience with i18n.
• Strong web infrastructure experience
• Experience with relational databases and distributed storage systems (MySQL, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Redis)

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• Experience coding using general purpose programming language (eg C/C++, Java, Python, Go, C#, Scala or Rust)
• At least five (3-5) years of software engineering experience
